Record Number of Students Completing Tech School Training Programs

Great news for the automotive industry! 

For the first time in ten years, there is a significant number of students completing training through tech schools and community colleges. With a 4.3% increase from the previous year, this may indicate a potential shrink in the technician shortage that has plagued the industry for decades, resulting in rising labor costs and extended service times. 

These positive changes come at an opportune time, as it is estimated that the industry will require 800,000 new technicians over the next five years to meet upcoming demand. If this trajectory continues, we may see a reduction in downtime and lower labor costs for service and repairs.
